Mastering the language of engineers

Unit I

Geometrical Constructions, Curves & Scales

Dimensioning systems, BIS SP-46 standards, conic sections (ellipse, parabola, hyperbola), cycloidal curves, and constructable scales (Plain, Diagonal).

Unit II

Orthographic Projections (Points, Lines, Planes)

First angle projection rules, projection of points, straight lines inclined to both HP & VP, and projections of regular planes surface inclinations.

Unit III

Projections of Solids & Section of Solids

Projections of prisms, pyramids, cylinders, cones resting on HP/VP inclined to axes, and section planes cutting solids to reveal internal profiles.

Unit IV

Isometric Projections

Isometric scale construction, isometric views vs projections, blueprints of planes, prisms, pyramids, cylinders and composite solids.

Unit V

Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD)

CAD UI setup, coordinate systems (relative, polar), basic 2D drawing command scripts (LINE, CIRCLE), and modify commands (TRIM, ARRAY).

  • 2. Conic Construction: Practice General Method for Ellipse (Eccentricity). Very high recurring probability.
